Pauline Lane Jenkins was born on August 9, 1925, in Bloomburg, Texas, to Marie Lane Piggie and Tommy Roberson. She attended and graduated from Atlanta, Texas Public Schools. She married Alfred Jenkins in 1943, who preceded her in death. A faithful member of Sunset Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years, she served diligently in the following ministries: Usher, Missionary, Building Fund Committe, Vacation Bible School and Culinary Department. Mrs. Jenkins was an employee of St. Michael Hospital for over 30 years. In 1988, she was acknowledged in the Texarkana Gazette for her notable service as Elevator Operator. With the arrival of automatic elevators, no longer requiring an Elevator Operator, she enrolled in the Nurse’s Aide Program and remained at St. Michael Hospital, working in the hospital recovery room. Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her parents, Marie Lane Piggee and Tommy Roberson, her husband, Alfred Jenkins and one sister, Joe Mattie Jordan. She leaves to mourn her passing, the loving and caring family of Hollis (deceased) and Ida Belle Patton, Texarkana, Arkansas. Grandchildren: Dr. Sandra Patton, JD, Sugarland TX; Sharon Patton Johnson, Texarkana, AR; Garry Johnson, Jr., Jonathan Boudousquie of Sugarland, TX; Dr. Cimberli (Nakia Sr.) Darrough Ed.D, Rosenberg, TX. Great Grandson: Nakia Darrough II, Rosenberg, TX Special Friends: Bertha Hooper, Clarice Armstrong Taylor, Carl and Evelyn McDonald, Texarkana, Texas; Her Sunset Missionary Baptist Church Family and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service Friday, April 22, 2022 11:00 AM at Sunset Missionary Baptist Church, 808 Capp Street, Texarkana, TX with Pastor J. L. Gillette MDiv, Officiant and Eulogist.
