February 3, 1927 — December 7, 2022 George Edward Lehigh, 95, resident of Texarkana, AR. passed away quietly at his home on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. His cherished wife of 41 years, Karla, was at his side. George will always be remembered for his integrity, dependability, and kindness. He smiled easily, was hooked on college football, and was an avid reader. George was born in the small town of Graettinger, Iowa, February 3, 1927 to Earl and Rachel (Baker) Lehigh. He grew into a man of deep faith and was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church. He enlisted in the United States Army as a seventeen year old high school graduate, and was forever proud to be an American. After college George accepted the position of Principal at Plover, Iowa High School, 1948-1950, before following his major career path. He challenged his business skills, and as a Fellow in the American College of Medical Group Administrators/MGMA, dedicated more than thirty years of leadership to multi-specialty clinics in Minnesota, Tennessee, Texas and Arizona. His generous spirit always found a place for serving and volunteering both before and after retirement in 1989. He had a passion for staying in touch with those he came to know, and treasured his family and friends immensely. George is survived by his devoted wife; his son Bruce of South Dakota; his daughter Paige and son-in-law Roy McMillin of Florida; grandsons Alex and Eric McMillin; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his sister Connie Richardson, and his three brothers, Don, Richard (Dick), and Earl, Jr. He loved them all, and he is loved deeply. The family is grateful for all who attended to him in the last month of his life, and for the kind and caring neighbors who are there with so much support. A family remembrance to be planned at a later date.
