RAYMOND LATSON

Rev. Raymond Douglas Latson was born to the late Georgia Mae Forte and Leon Latson on July 15, 1952, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He passed away at home at 5:50 p.m. January 27, 2022. Rev. Latson graduated from Haworth High School in Haworth, Ok in 1970. He later enlisted in the United States Navy where he served our country from 1971 to December 1974 as Postal Clerk, UUS Brumby DE 1044. He later was employed by Domtar where he remained for 34 years as Sheeter Operator. He attended Oklahoma School of Religion where he received an Associate Degree in Biblical Studies. Rev. Latson was the pastor of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church until his health began to fail. He also served on the Ashdown School Board. Rev. Latson is another soldier gone to get a great reward. He fought the fight, he kept the faith, and now he has gone home to God. He leaves to cherish his memories wife Jacqueline Morgan Latson of Ashdown; daughters, Daphane Beard of Foreman, AR, and Leslye Wilson of Memphis, TN; son, Marvis Stanback of Jackson, TN; sisters, Aslean Latson and Vera Freeman of Shreveport, LA, Marylin E. (Michael) Denver of Wichita Falls, TX, and Chamila Harris of Ashdown; brothers, Ricky Latson, Rodney Latson both of Ashdown, AR and Randell Forte of Wichita Fall, TX; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and number of other relatives and friends. Saturday, February 12, from 3:00-500 p.m., walk through visitation for Rev. Latson will be at Lyles Funeral Home, Inc., Texarkana, AR. Sunday, February 13, 2:00 p.m, homegoing services for Rev. Latson will be at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Idabel, Oklahoma with Rev. Jamie Erby, eulogist. Interment to follow in St. Luke Cemetery, Tom OK. Masks are required to be worn.
