VIRGINIA SHAW

Virginia Anne Shaw, known to her family and friends as Nina, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2022. Born in Bogota, Texas in 1933, Virginia was the daughter of Ralph Murray Shaw and Carra Elliott Shaw of Texarkana. Virginia was educated at Eylau School, Texas High School, and Texarkana College. After completing her studies she spent time working in Washington, DC, before returning to Texarkana where she had a long career at Offenhauser Insurance. She is survived by her sister Elaine Shaw McCafferty, and her niece Lisa Anne McCafferty, along with many more beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Frances Marie Shaw, a sister Mary Shaw Francis, and her brother R. Murray Shaw, Jr. Her greatest joy came from traveling and lavishing affection on her nieces, nephews, and their children. Virginia was a lifetime member of Eylau Methodist Church. A private family burial will be held at Chapelwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Eylau United Methodist Church in Texarkana, Texas.
