Charles Melton

Charles “Charly” Melton, age 64, of Atlanta, Texas, formerly of Redwater, Texas, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 13, 2022, in a Shreveport, Louisiana hospital. Charly was born June 6, 1957 in Texarkana, Arkansas, to William Melton and Sue Clark. He was retired from Orr Chevrolet; and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time quail hunting, crappie fishing, cooking, watching his grandchildren play sports and he was an avid Texas Longhorn and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was preceded in death by his father, William Melton. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Melton of Atlanta, Texas; daughter, Lacey Melton Shirley and husband Matt of Texarkana, Texas; step-children, Nikki McCasland of Atlanta, Texas, Cody McCasland and wife Sarah of Alice, Texas; mother, Sue Clark and husband Herbert of Texarkana, Texas; sisters, Pam Kirby and husband Jesse of Redwater, Texas, Sherry Melton of Texarkana, Texas; two grandchildren, Graham Shirley, Griffyn Shirley; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, January 17, 2022, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Owens officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 16, 2022, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service. Interment will be in Huffines Cemetery. Guest registry is available at www.hannerfuneralservice.com.
