Mrs. Mattie Bell Williams, 98, of Texarkana, Arkansas was summoned by the Lord from her residence on January 15, 2022. Mrs. Mattie Bell was born January 28, 1923 in Hope, Arkansas to the late Ezell and Roxie Wyatt Williams. She was the youngest and only girl of five children. At an early age, she gave her life to Christ at Common Hill Baptist Church. After moving to Texarkana, AR, she joined Mt. Grove Baptist Church and as she grew spiritually, and in age, she sung in the mass choir and served as a mission sister. She labored most of her life as a domestic engineer at The Park Plaza and The Town House Motel. Her hobbies included reading the bible, fishing, talking on the phone and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by four children, Charlie Atkins, John Atkins, Edward Williams and Ruby Lee Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Lee James Williams, Corona, CA, Oria Williams and Henry D. Williams both of Texarkana; three daughters, Gladys (Joe) West and Mae Bell Carson, both of Los Angeles, CA and Elnora (Taylor) Harris of Texarkana; two special friends, four godchildren; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren, number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation hours will be 3:00-5:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2022 at Lyles Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. A homegoing celebration of Mrs. Mattie Bell life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Mt. Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Reid, Sr. officiating. Interment to follow afterwards at Chapelwood Memorial Garden under direction of Lyles Funeral Home, Inc. Masks are required to be worn. Online registration at lylesfuneralhomeinc.com.
