On January 25, 2022, God called one of his greatest home. Billy Wayne Davis was born June 22, 1939, in Clanton Alabama and died surrounded by the people that loved him the most his wife and two daughters in Ponderosa Nursing home in Dekalb Tx. How to describe Bill Davis takes a lot of words and emotion. He was a man of few words unless he had a good story to tell, but more importantly were his many acts of kindness that he bestowed unselfishly. He was an extraordinaire of all things handy. He could replace an engine, an air conditioning unit even things like restoring old tractors and homes. He was a master craftsman of labor but a soul craftsman of love. He was born to Lonzie Davis and Mary Frances Hill in dismal means, raise in an orphanage until he left for the Army at 16. He grew into a man that not only loved the world but wanted to change it. He went to the army at a young age. In his service to the United Stated Government, he served in intelligence where he acquired the skill that would provide for his family for years to come. He was an artist, a musician, and a humanitarian. He loved his family above all else. He is proceeded in death by his mother: Mary Francis Hill, his father Lonzie Davis, brother Robert Davis and granddaughter Maci Stevens along with other brothers, sisters, and friends. Bill leaves behind a loving wife of 56 years: Josephine Davis, two daughters Beth McKellips and Deborah Betts. Grandsons: Aaron Talley, Zakary Stevens, and Christopher Wilgus. He also leaves behind his beautiful granddaughters: Ashlyn Talley and Diceieanna Sanders, along with numerous nieces and nephews. There can only be so many words to describe Billy Wayne “Wild Bill” Davis. Those words would be strong, compassionate, and dedicated. He loved God, his family, and his country. Without doubt the heavens welcomed home a son, the world will remember the legacy. We love you Dad. Graveside Services will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Texarkana at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 28, 2022 with Bro. Anthony Tropp officiating.
