On Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 2:00 a.m. at Hospice of Texarkana, Texas, the Lord called Sister Loraine Delois Latson from labor to reward. She was born March 6, 1959 in Ashdown, Arkansas to the late Joseph and Pearl McClain Hill. Sister Latson attended Little River Training School at Ashdown High School. Upon obtaining her GED with the class of 1978, she latered attended UACC of Hope and obtained an Associate Degree in Child Care. Sister Latson accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior in 1980 while uniting with New Dora Baptist Church of Tom, Oklahoma. She later became the first lady of Anitoch Baptist Church, DeAnn, Arkansas and First Baptist Church Westside, Idabel, Oklahoma under her late husband, Rev. Russell Latson. They were united in marriage on July 16, 1977 and to this union a son was born. Sister Latson ethics in the workplace included many skilled occupational jobs; Long John Silver, Coker Buick, The Snend Motel, Dr. Shelton residence , Little River Memorial Hospital, Jill Daycare and Mary Little Lamb’s Daycare; the Arkansas Dept of Correction, Texas Dept of Criminal Justice and the Ashdown Public School System. Survivors include, three sons, Greymekio Hill, Talvarus Hill and Christopher Oglesby II; Five sisters, Elaine Owens, Susan (John) Davis, Andrea Brown, Donna Sue (Fred) Cook, Jr. Stephine Murphy ; one grandchild, Tia Jeanee’ Latson; number of other relatives and friends. Visitation hours will be 3:00-6:00 P.M., Thursday at Lyles Funeral Home, Texarkana, AR. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, at Rhodes Cemetery, Ashdown, Arkansas with Min. Anthony Nelson officiating. Interment to follow in Rhodes Cemetery under direction of Lyles Funeral Home, Inc. Mask are to be worn to all services. Online registration at lylesfuneralhomeinc.com.
