Hurley James Tarver, Sr. passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 at his home in New Boston, Texas. He was 70. Hurley was born February 6, 1952 in Naples, Texas to Oneff and Hazel L. Thomas Tarver. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Dotson Street Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Stephens Tarver of New Boston, Texas; his mother, Hazel Tarver of Naples, Texas; seven children, Catina Tarver of Naples, Texas, Hurley Tarver, Jr. of Ft. Worth, Texas; Hurley Elogada of Little Rock, Arkansas, Estrelita Bruce and her husband, Brian of Dallas, Texas, Hurcules Tarver of Dallas, Texas, Marvielon Holt and his wife, Tiffany of New Boston, Texas, and Shree Holt of New Boston, Texas; two sisters, Tammy Caldron and Annette Betts and her husband, Larry; five brothers, Oneff Tarver, Jr. and his wife, Elita, Charlie Tarver and his wife, Gwen, Adrian Porter and his wife, Tonya, Billy Tarver and his wife, Doris, and Jeromy Porter; fifteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Dotson Street Church of Christ in De Kalb, Texas with Brother Royce Green officiating. Interment will follow at De Kalb Cemetery under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Dotson Street Church of Christ in De Kalb, Texas Online registration at www.batesfamilyfuneralhome.com.
