James Ray “Pa” Knighton, age 95, of Buckner, Arkansas died November 1, 2022, at his home. He was born February 1, 1927, in Buckner, Arkansas to Caver Newton and Addie May Baker Knighton. He was a member of the Stamps Church of Christ and the American Legion. Mr. Knighton served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He loved to hunt, fish and work on his farm, but his greatest pastime was spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 siblings and his wife of 62 years, Annie Sue Aldridge Knighton. He is survived by 2 sons, James Knighton and wife Frieda and Carroll Knighton and wife Shannon both of Buckner, Arkansas. 1 daughter Wanda Phillips and husband Randy of Stamps, Arkansas. 3 grandsons Jamie Knighton and wife Karen of Lewisville, Arkansas, Jeremy Knighton and wife Robyn of Haughton, Louisiana and Heath Phillips and with Melissa of Lewisville, Arkansas. 5 granddaughters, Tammy Porter and husband David of Buckner, Arkansas, Tricia Long and husband Chris of Willisville, Arkansas, Tonya Clark of Buckner, Arkansas Karmon Campbell and husband John of Buckner, Arkansas and Coleen Chase and husband Brad of Waldo, Arkansas. 19 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren. 1 brother Loyce Knighton and wife Corina of League City, Texas. A special friend Edna McDonald and his faithful guard dog, Toby. Pallbearers will be Heath Phillips, Brad Chase, Joshua Campbell, Jordan Porter, Hunter Knighton, Trent Knighton, and Trevor Knighton Honorary pallbearers will be Tristan Knighton, Trey Knighton, Cameron Gammill, Anthony Rogers, Chris Long, David Porter and Jeremy Knighton Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 10:00A.M. at the Stamps Church of Christ with Bro. Jamie Knighton and Bro. Garry Knighton officiating under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home with interment at Shiloh Cemetery in Buckner. Visitation will be Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M.
