Rebecca Lynn Summers (nee Foster), age 74, of Wake Village, Texas, died Friday, October 7, 2022, in a Tyler, Texas hospital. Mrs. Summers was born October 16, 1947, in Paris, Texas. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Bruce Summers, her sister, Gwen Baty, and mother, Myrtle Foster. Survivors include her niece, Sheron Huhn, and husband, Richard Huhn, of Galveston; great-nieces, Heather Huhn, Hayley Huhn and Hilary Huhn of Galveston; step-daughter, Shannon Mauldin, of Rogers Arkansas and her sons, Preston Mauldin and Grayson Mauldin; step-son, Doug Summers, and wife, Rena Summers, and their daughter, Lela Summers, of San Antonio; her sister-in-law, Sherrie Thompson, and husband, Chuck, of Texarkana. Becky was a talented artist who filled her home, and gifted her loved ones, with beautiful portraits in a wide range of subjects: from fields and flowers to stately homes or her treasured cats. Becky was an animal lover and, over the years, was mother to many. In her last years, her beloved cat, Shadow, was literally that – always by her side and a comfort to her after her husband, Bruce, passed. Also dear to Becky’s heart was the work she did alongside the Texarkana MS Society, as she lived with Multiple Sclerosis for the better part of 30 years. Becky will be greatly missed by both her family and the community she and Bruce built together in Texarkana and beyond. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home. There are no services at this time.
