Sister Octavia Bertha Neal Nard was born on December 02, 1945 in Mandeville, Arkansas to the late Garret Neal and Rosie Lee Neal. She departed this life on Friday, October 14, 2022, in Dallas, Texas, at the Faith Presbyterian Hospice Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garret Neal and Rosie Lee Neal, two grandchildren, her husband, Amos Nard, and two sisters, Pauline Neal and Beans Brown. Sister Octavia was a Baptist, and she worked as a home health caregiver. She attended school in the Texarkana, Arkansas, District, where she was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She loved her family and loved to exercise her culinary skills in the kitchen with family and friends. Her life, memories, smile, and her willingness to help others will always be remembered and cherished by her family and friends. She is survived by: two daughters, Diane Neal and Bertha Neal, and one son, Gary Lester, all of Texarkana; brother; Melvin E. Neal, Los Angeles, CA, fourteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; twenty great-great-grandchildren; two special nieces who cared for their aunt in her later years, Lisa A. Neal of Dallas, Texas, and Nancy Fulsom of Texarkana; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Viewing will be at Lyles Funeral Home from 3:00-5:00 Friday. Homegoing Service is 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Lyles Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Fair Haven Cemetery, Texarkana, AR under direction of Lyles Funeral Home, Inc.
