Mrs. Hattie Lee Johnson, 80, of Texarkana, Arkansas died Saturday, September 17, 2022 at her residence. She was born November 3, 1941 in Jersey, Arkansas to the late Mary Purifoy and Emmit Purifoy. She met her husband, the late Luster Leroy Johnson, Sr in Lewisville, AR and later she moved to Texarkana, Arkansas where she raised her four generations. Mrs. Hattie was a homemaker with a special heart who loved to cook, fish, play bingo and raise beautiful gardens. . She also was employed as a cook, sitter and dry cleaners at several business. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Mary Ann Johnson; sons, Luster Leroy Johnson, Jr. and Charles Johnson; sisters, Mary Purifoy (Bell) Author Fay Purifoy ; brothers, Emmit Purifoy, Jr. and Charles Purifoy. Survivors includes: Seven children: William (Betty) Johnson , Susie Johnson, Lola Gibson, Doris Johnson, Margaret Johnson, Freddie Johnson and Tonya Jones all of Texarkana; Siblings: Brother Odis Purifoy, Warren, AR, Carroll Purifoy, Milwaukee, WI, Cecralia Purifoy (Cook) Warren, AR, Carmon Purifoy ( Santos) Lora, Linda Purifoy (Washington) Lois, Lee Odis Purifoy , Milwaukee, WI, Ruby Purifoy, Milwaukee, WI, Rose Purifoy, Milwaukee, WI; Thirty-one grandchildren, fifty one great grandchildren and twenty-two great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be 3:00-5:00 P.M. at Lyles Funeral Home, Friday, September 30, 2022 A celebration of her life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Grove Baptist Church with Rev. William Beed officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Chapel Cemetery, Texarkana, AR under direction of Lyles Funeral Home, Inc.
