LONNIE McDONALD

August 23, 1948 to February 19, 2023 Lonnie H. McDonald. 74, of Texarkana was united with the love of his life, Sandy Lee and met his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 19, 2023. After being discharged from the Navy in 1973, Lonnie attended and received his BS Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from UNLV. He was the first manager of the very successful family-owned Hush Puppy Restaurant in Bakersfield, California. Wanting to get back to the South, Lonnie founded the Cajun Landing Restaurant in Alexandria, Louisiana. Numerous times, The Cajun Landing Restaurant was named the best seafood restaurant in Central Louisiana. Numerous Razorback Sports Writers and fans would stop and visit with Lonnie on their way to the LSU game. Lonnie is survived by his brother, Johnny McDonald and his Sister-in-Law, Kay McDonald, of Maumelle, Arkansas. Two other brothers, Jerry Hooper and Tim Hooper of Boise, Idaho. Local relatives are Linda Hooper and Stacy Hooper.
