Marie Louise Freeman

Marie Louise Freeman passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at her home in Texarkana, Texas. She was 87. Marie was born July 2, 1935 in Port Arthur, Texas to Thomas Jolly and May Broussard Harrison. She married Curtis Freeman on December 4, 1954 in Port Gibson, Mississippi. Along with her husband, Marie was the co-owner and operator of Freeman Nurseries. She enjoyed gardening, antiques, and being involved in animal rescue. Marie was of the Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Scot Freeman. She is survived by her husband, Curtis Freeman of Texarkana, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lisa and Paul Toler of Texarkana, Texas and Lydia Ludwig of Silver Spring Maryland; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Linda Freeman of Texarkana, Texas and Brent and Melissa Freeman of Texarkana, Texas; ten grandchildren, Amy Morgan and her husband, Jason, Jason Heard and his wife, Sandra, Grady Tyler and his wife, DeeDee, Dr. Sarah Toler and her husband, Robby Wells, Dr. Amber Ludwig and her husband, CDR Carlos Otero, Jason Freeman and his wife, Krissi, Megan Lewis and her husband, Tim, Marshall Freeman and his wife, Summer, Carder Freeman and Rachel Hoffman; seventeen great grandchildren, Madelyn Bain, Brayden Bain, Owen Bain, Gloria Heard, Nathaniel Heard, Alex Cigainero, Nina Toler-Wells, Lydia Otero, Cecilia Otero, Kaitlyn Freeman, Jude Freeman, Moriah Freeman, Callie Lewis, Nora Lewis, Wesley Freeman, Madeline Freeman, and Kayson Hoffman; a special friend, Cindy Porter of Maud, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Old Union Cemetery Pavilion in Simms, Texas with Rev. Roy Freeman and Rev. Todd Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
