SAMMY KAY “BO” HAMILTON, SR.

Sammy Kay “Bo” Hamilton, Sr. of Maud, Texas passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at a De Kalb, Texas care facility. He was 75. Bo was born June 5, 1947 in the Minton Community of Maud, Texas to Samuel Houston and Mittie Lorene Smith Hamilton. He was retired from the oil field and was a veteran of the United States Army. Bo was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Billy Hamilton; and one son, Sammy K. Hamilton, Jr. He is survived by eight daughters and their spouses, Amber and Bradley Cook of Texarkana, Texas, Brittney Hamilton and Gunner Roberts of Maud, Texas, Shelena and Michael Garton of Maud, Texas, Buffie and Phillip Neff of Clinton, Arkansas, Jessica and Jeb Gustus of Shirley, Arkansas; Michelle and Tony Walls of New Boston, Texas, Karen and Doug Tate of Avenger, Texas, and Sharon and Kevin Driscoll of Wilmington, North Carolina; one son, Samuel Hamilton of Texarkana, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Lee Roy Blanks of New Boston, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Martha Hamilton of Plano, Texas and Larry “Peanut” and Lorrie Hamilton of Charlotte, North Carolina; thirty two grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Center Ridge Cemetery in Maud, Texas under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home with Bro. Augustine officiating.
