NATHANIEL BIDDLE

Mr. Nathaniel Biddle was born on July 5, 1924 to the union of Sanford Biddle and Daisy Pitt Biddle in Emerson, Arkansas. He was the fifth of seven children. He was educated at McMittress High School where he was a star basketball player. He joined the Sweet Home Baptist Church in Emerson, Arkansas at an early age. He secured employment with Barioid National Lead Industries in 1945 where he worked for 42 years from a general laborer to a supervisor in 1968, a position he held until his retirement in 1987. Nathaniel married Vera Ferguson on June 1, 1946, in Magnolia, AR before making their home in Texarkana. They were blessed with five boys and one daughter. One son, Nathaniel Biddle, Jr., his loving wife Vera, and granddaughter Rashida Biddle, preceded him in death. Nathaniel organized and served as a Little League coach for the Colt 45’s throughout the 60’s. For years, both his former players and opposing players associated him with this championship team. Mr. Biddle was a faithful member of Walker Chapel C.M.E. Church for 71 years where he served as conference delegate, usher finance committee member, and trustee among others. He passed away March 19, 2023. He leaves to cherish his member four sons, Walter Biddle of Dallas, TX, Ray Biddle of Corona ,CA,Glen (Carolyn) Biddle of Fulshear, TX and Marlon Biddle (Connie) of Little Rock, AR and one daughters, Wanda Biddle of Texarkana, TX; nine grandchildren; Steven Douglas, Marquana Biddle, Glen Biddle, II, Michael Biddle, Ryan Biddle, Maria Biddle, Natalie Biddle, Dere’Biddle Scott and Kaitlyn Biddle. He was also blessed to have seven great grandchildren; Avery, Mykala, Glen III (Trey), Zaria, Natalie, Christopher and Jayden. Visitation will be 3-5 P.M. Friday, March 31, 2023 at Lyles Funeral Home. A celebration of Mr. Biddle’s life will be 11 A.M. Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Walker Chapel CME Church with Reverend Don White officiating. Interment to follow at Memorial Garden under direction of Lyles Funeral Home, Inc.
